We’re regularly using the three CGRP antibodies Emgality (galcanezumab), Ajovy (fremanezumab), Aimovig (erenumab). They are quite similar, and given as a subcutaneous injection once a month. Becki will teach you how to do the injections safely and the medication for three months will be delivered to your home. The most common side effect is pain at the injection site or constipation, especially with Aimovig. When successful, the effect typically comes much quicker for anti-CGRP medication than for botox.
